Would you believe me if I told you...

I haven't been to work since last Friday morning!?!

The snow here in DC is out of control and the roads really are that bad. The pictures below aren't from the set of the newest post-apocalyptic film, or even a ski slope as you might suspect. They were taken in MY NEIGHBORHOOD where people have abandoned cars, shopping carts, and all hope of ever returning to work (or at least until after President's Day).

Our expedition led us to the nearest grocery store, which was sold out of milk and eggs--but we managed to get the "essentials."

I hate to sound ungrateful for the snow-cation, punxsutawney phil, but I'm looking forward to things going back to normal around here.

  1. All of the snow that normally buries Northern Indiana seems to have gone your way. The only way I can get people to D.C. by train is to send them to New York City and down. We got eight or nine inches of the stuff yesterday (along with a small earthquake, which I didn't feel, but our dog did), but that's par for the course. We expect snow out here and are prepared for it. Best of luck getting out.

  4. I'm loving the snow in AR. And the snow days even more! Maybe one day you guys will get a break, though... you gotta want something pretty badly in order to get out for it.

For example, I got my Honda stuck on an icy hill the other day when I became fully convinced I couldn't go the weekend without a steak sandwich. :/
